pavillion g6-2291sa
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Restored my machine back to Win 7 after only being able to run it in Safe Mode - The drivers are missing.

When trying to get the drivers from the HP site I get : "No software or drivers are available for this product with the selected operating system. Please make a different selection, or visit the product homepage." . This message is displayed for all offered OS options (So Helpful ... How I laughed).

No Network so I can not use Support Assistant.

I'm not sure how I can move forward. Any resolution assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

HP site is having some issues and it will probably be Monday before they are resolved. However, at this moment I am able to see your drivers list:

Hi Cheryl,

Thank you for your VERY fast response.

However it did not work for me.

The link you posted takes me to the 'HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads' page.

There are 3 OS's offered = Win 8, 8.1 and 7.

No matter which I select I always get: No software or drivers are available for this product with the selected operating system. Please make a different selection, or visit the product homepage.

If I visit the product homepage I eventually end up in a loop back to the 'HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads' page.

Like a bad Déjà vu - Soo annoying.

If you are able to access the drivers - Is there any chance you could get them and send to me please?

Likewise anyone else readinh this post.

I can still access the drivers page at the moment. No way to get all of them and send but I can give link to Realtek ethernet driver:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp61501-62000/sp61723.exe

Your model could have one of several Wireless adapters-Ralink,Intel,Atheros. Do you know which you have?

Hi Cheryl,

Thank you for your help.

Ethernet is now working, I'm on the machine now.

I am still unable to access any drivers? I assume this is because I'm accessing the HP site from the UK.

I have tried to access the American site but it defaults back to UK settings. I may be able to circumvent this once the machine is running better.

Support assistant is downloaded and now running, unfortunately driver updates are not given.

The wireless card in this machine is a Ralink RT5390

The Display driver is probably the next most important, I'm running in Low Graphics mode so everything is Large and Poor Quality.

From the forums it seems that the correct display setup is critical otherwise the machine can go into my original fault condition which was a 'black screen with arrow cursor' under normal start conditions, but Safe Mode working OK.

I also need the chip-set drivers - Is there a direct link (page address) that will take me to the driver page?

I'm now going to make a backup of the current setup, and hope that if it falls over again I'm not right back at the start.

I REALLY do appreciate the assistance you have given.

Diolch (Welsh for thanks)

Steve

Hi Cheryl

Thank you SO much for all of your help.

Machine is now working OK, just a few personal tweaks needed but other than that all good.

Once I was able to access the internet it was just a matter of putting in the time installing all of the updates. It was the internet driver you sent that was the game changer, thank you again.

I am still unable to access the HP drivers from the HP site (something very wrong there, I tried from a few machines including a couple at work, all failed), but the links you were kind enough to send worked fine.

Diolch yn fawr iawn I chi (Thank you very much).

Steve 🙂

Happy to hear the drivers working for you. HP site has been having some glitches over weekend so that may just be the problem you had.

Hopefully site is working better soon.
