Hi i have a HP Elitebook 840 G8 and I upgraded the ssd and ram when i notice this empty m.2 slot which i think where the 5g module should be. I was just wondering can i use this on another ssd or is it just for the 5g cellular module?

No you cant replace a Wifi card with ssd  not possible

That slot is for a WWAN card which is slow, not suitable for storage (normal PCIe 3x4 or above SSD).
