Hello grossie8118

Have you looked in the Device manager to see that its missing?

If not, it may be there but disabled of have a yellow caution sign next to it.

You can re-enable it or uninstall it> restart the PC to reinstall it.

If you want the driver for Windows 10...

Let me know if this helps.

The device isn't shown in the device manager. I will try to install the drivers.

Did the ethernet controller ever work since Windows 10 was installed?

These are the drivers for you model.

After the warning about Sleep Mode, did the Realtek adapter show up the Device manager or is it still missing?

Things to try...

Power reset: unplug the power cord and battery. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Plug power back in and restart.

I have heard if Hyper-V is enabled, it may be the factor.

To check if its enabled, go to...

Control Panel > Programs & Features > Turn Windows Features On or Off

Uncheck the box for Hyper-V.

Reset the bios to default in bios settings.

On startup, rapidly tap Esc to get menu. Choose F10 for bios.

Reset bios to Default, save and exit.

Try it again...

Version:10.9.422.2016 Rev.A (29 Aug 2016)

If that did not work, try the one prior to it...

Version:10.6.1001.2015 Rev.A (9 Mar 2016)

or

Version:10.1.505.2015 Rev.A (13 Aug 2015)

IF this does not work, I have also heard suggested to pull the bios battery to reset it. Problem is, it's buried so deep, you have to pull the motherboard to access it.

NOT an easy task, so I would not do that except in a last effort. And if you are not up to that, it may be best to continue using the wifi card instead.

Otherwise, I fear the ethernet card may have failed.
