Hello Community,

Will like some help to get info of a compatible WIFI card for this laptop.

Originally comes with a Realtek (Info Below)

Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&SUBSYS_804C103C&REV_00
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&SUBSYS_804C103C
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&CC_0280

Is it possible to upgrade to a dual band 2.4/5Ghz card.?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi, Hank:

Unfortunately, there are two things going against you.

1.  There is a BIOS whitelist which prevents the installation of any wifi card not listed in your notebook's service manual.

2. Your notebook only has one antenna cable, which prevents all but one dual band wifi card from working correctly since the rest of them require two antenna cables.

If you are willing to take the risk, the one wifi card that does work with one antenna cable is the Realtek RTL8821CE AC wifi card, even though it is not listed as a supported card in the service manual.

It worked in the HP 250 G4 business notebook, which is the 15.6" display size model of the 240 G4 which shares the same service manual as yours.

You can see this discussion for the card and HP part number you need to get.  It's a long shot though.
