Hi.

I'm currently planning to upgrade the existing WiFi Card (Broadcom BCM43142, Single band, the card has 2 antenna cables) to either the Intel 9260 or the AX200. I'm not sure whether the new WiFi cards will support my computer seeing that the seller assured me that the cards are not going to work on HP laptops. Has anyone tried this before?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi:

Unfortunately no one that I know of will have the answer to your question, since I don't know of anyone that has tried one of those cards in that model series.

This is what I do know...your notebook probably does not have a BIOS whitelist, and either of those cards would probably work.  HP does not publish any info regarding BIOS whitelists, but most notebooks made after mid 2013 don't have them.

But you must get the non-vPro versions of the wifi adapters.

If you want to play it safe you can always install the Intel 7265 dual band card with the HP part number that is listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual...

You should be able to find one of those on eBay easy enough.
