In a 'HP Notebook - 17-x034ds', do you know if it is possible to install a newer faster NIC? Or is the NIC part of the motherboard, etc? I'm considering to upgrade my internet. And this laptop by default has a slow NIC. So I want to possibly put in a faster NIC, if it is a separate/individual component. Thanks.

Hi:
The ethernet adapter is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.
Since the product specs indicate that your notebook has a USB 3 port, you may want to look into using a USB 3 to RJ-45 gigabit ethernet adapter.
Something like this...
