Microsoft Windows 11

Laptop would usually drop wifi connection intermittently which I could fix with a toggle of airplane mode but for the past 3 weeks it simply wont connect.

I've flushed DNS, tried updating drivers, even went through BIOS but close to launching it out of a window as nothing seems to work.

Any help or suggestions greatly welcomed!

Hello @HP530, and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your laptop refuses to connect to Wi-Fi, especially after trying multiple fixes. Let's walk through a few targeted steps to help resolve this issue on your HP Pavilion 15-EH0xxx running Windows 11.

Reset Network Settings

This will clear all network adapters and restore default settings.

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset
  • Click Reset now, then restart your PC.

Reinstall Wi-Fi Driver via Device Manager

Sometimes a clean reinstall works better than an update.

  • Press Win + X → Device Manager
  • Expand Network adapters
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Realtek or MediaTek) → Uninstall device
  • Check Delete the driver software for this device if available
  • Restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

Install Latest Wireless Driver from HP

Even if Windows reinstalls a driver, it may not be the latest or most compatible.

  • Visit the Official HP® Support
  • Enter your full model number (e.g., 15-eh0050au)
  • Download and install the latest Wireless LAN driver listed under Driver-Network

Disable Power Saving for Wi-Fi Adapter

Windows may turn off the adapter to save power.

  • Go to Device Manager > Network adapters
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Properties
  • Under Power Management, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Check Services

Ensure required services are running.

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc
  • Ensure these are Running and Startup Type = Automatic:
    • WLAN AutoConfig
    • Network Connections
    • DHCP Client

BIOS Wi-Fi Toggle

Some HP laptops have a BIOS-level wireless toggle.

  • Restart and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS
  • Look for Wireless LAN or Network Adapter settings
  • Ensure it's Enabled

HP Hardware Diagnostics (Optional)

Run a wireless module test to rule out hardware failure.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!

Nope!

If you click on "Update" as you suggest it simply tells me that "You are not connected to the Internet" which is the issue I'm trying to resolve!

A quick google appears to show that my Windows update (to Windows 11 24H2) is known to have caused WiFi issues by causing an issue via DHCP......has HP acknowledged this or not is anyone working on a fix?

This issue is dragging on and want to know if I go buy a Wifi adaptor, can I claim my money back from HP or Microsoft??
