HP Pavilion 15 Laptop 5GHz Wifi upgrade

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion 15-g255sa

Hi there,

I have the same question that Alezzy asked on 21 April 2019, except that my laptop has the model number 15-g255sa, which is slightly different to that of Alezzy.  Please could you confirm whether the wireless adapter you have recommended will also work with my laptop?

Kind regards,

Susie

Hi:

Most likely, your notebook only has one wifi antenna connected to the wireless card in there now, which makes an upgrade to a dual band card impossible unless you are willing to go without Bluetooth.

Plus your notebook has an AMD processor, which further limits your options.

Open up the notebook and let me know how many wifi antenna cables are connected to the wifi card.

Below is the link to the service manual.

See chapter 6.
