Hi! Currently I have Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn WIFI card inside my laptop. I want to upgrade the WIFI adapter card inside to a 5GHz wifi card with 802.11ac standard.
What adapters are compatible to safely install for my notebook? Please help!
Any suggestions on what will work or where to go to find out would be tremendously appreciated.

Hi:
If your notebook has two wifi antenna cables connected to the Ralink wifi card, you can upgrade to this model card...
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part # 710661-001
You can find this card on eBay. Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.
