Pavilion dv6-1235sb
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello all,

I've already spent some two days looking for a solution to my problem, but no luck so far, I hope someone would be able to help me or at least point me in the right direction.

I own a rather old HP Pavilion dv6-1235sb notebook, that hadn't been used at all for God knows how many years. Back then I stopped using it because the battery died, so did the HDD, so I got myself a newer HP and put this one aside. Though I need an additional computer now, so I thought that I could get a new HDD and it would just be fine, running from the charger permanently.

Did buy a Windows 10 Home for it (as the recovery partition was lost for good with the old HDD) and to my surprise, it is running quite smooth on this ~10-yr-old notebook.

There are a few issues, however.

I am fairly sure that I used to have Bluetooth on this notebook (I do remember using Bluetooth speakers and mouse/keyboard, etc), but there aren't any Settings for Bluetooth configuration on the Control Panel or anywhere else, that I could find, or at least there isn't a switch at the place where it is supposed to be on Win10. So I'm now kinda unsure if my memory serves me well about its' Bluetooth capabilities. Anyone able to confirm whether it has or not, please? If yes, would that anyone be able to point me out wherefrom could I possibily download the driver for it, too? 🙂 I haven't got anything left of what I may (or may not...?)have received from HP in the form of a drivers disc or something, when I bought the notebook several years ago, so I'll need to download it and I wasn't able to find anything on the web. As stated above, recovery is not an option, as the old HDD died long ago.

The second annoying issue is that there's absolutely no sound at all. Probably the same driver issue as with the Bluetooth device, but I was unable to find anything on the web.

If it helps, here's a screenshot of the Device Manager, that shows four unknown and therefore not operational hardware pieces.

This one shows the Properties tab of the first device

The second unknown hardware elements' Properties tab

The third one here

And finally the fourth one

I have tried the following so far:

Windows 10's update - didn't find the drivers

Downloaded the HP support agent application - same as above

Manually searched the internet for the drivers - have yet to find anything on the subject...

Searched these Forums (and HP Online Support) for an answer - no luck so far

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I can't really afford right now to get a new notebook, thus I'll have to get it working again, somehow.

Greetings,

Miki

Since you know how to get to the screen posted, click on the tab "Details" tab and Select the Hardware Ids in the dropdown list.

Then use that ID to search for what the device is and the drivers for that device ID.
