Product: Pavillion 17 Notebook
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop is about 5 years old and has slowed down considerably when connected to the internet.  I have 1 gigabyte internet connection which is what I am getting on my desktop.  When connecting direct to the router I am only getting a speed of about 42 mbps.  I have run all the diagnostics and updated all of the drivers including the bios, run a virus scan, de-fragmented etc.  No improvement.  I am stumped.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

What is your Pavilion 17 Notebook  ? Looks like it only has wifi adapter which supports 2.4GHz networks only. Depending on what is your Pavilion 17 Notebook  and its age you may be able to replace its wifi adapter with a faster one.

 

Again, what is your machine ? Please use the following way to find out the model/product of your machine

This is the model.  It was running fine until the summer when it gradually started to slow down.  Thank you for trying to help.
