Pavillion x360 Convertible 15-cr0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I just got this HP Pavillion 2-in-1 laptop yesterday. I got the same laptop about a week ago, and I returned it because of the same issue.

The issue is that the laptop will randomly disconnect from wifi. It will range from connecting to wifi for about 1 minute to 20 minutes. There is no issue of the internet; all of my other devices are fine on the wifi and it has the same issue on different wifi networks.

I have looked around on other forums, and I have tried the following:

1. "device manager > network adapters > right click the wireless adapter > uninstall. Restart your notebook, on start up Windows will reinstall the driver. "

2. "Disable the Power Off option for the adapter:
1. Open Device Manager. (Win Key+R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
2. Expand the Network adapters.
3. Right click on the Ethernet/Wireless Adapter and click Properties.
4. Click the Power Management tab.
5. Remove the check mark beside Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
6. Click OK.
7. Test."

3. "Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test."

I have tried all of these and I am still having the same issue.

Update: I have this problem whether or not I am on battery saver mode.

Hi:

That card seems to have a lot of issues if you look at all of the complaints regarding the same problem you are having.

The only suggestion I can offer, would be to update the wifi driver to the latest version from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

I have zipped the file up and attached it below.

Version:  2024.0.8.105,   04/12/2019

You have to manually update the driver as follows...

Go to the device manager.

Click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category.

Click on the Realtek 8822 wifi adapter listed there.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.
