HP Stream 11-ak0000 Laptop PC (528P3AV)

This is my wife's computer.  Not expensive. Just internet access.

I am writing this on my computer because her machine is a useless brick.

A Windows 11 update disenabled the network adapter. No internet. I tried all-- and I mean all-- the online solutions. Ran the troubleshooters. Uninstalled and reinstalled all the drivers. Downloaded and installed the drivers. Would not let me revert to an earlier update. Reset the network. Reset the computer. Did all the hocus pocus with the Power Shell, the command prompt, the ipconfigs, the msconfigs, etc. I wnet in to safe mode and tried to fix the BIOS. The whole nine yards. Nothing works.

I tried to start it up today, and I got a screen telling me the PIN was inaccessible. Click on "reset the PIN." Guess what? You need internet access to fix the pin. GOTO10

Any clue, hint, or commiseration would be appreciated.
