HP Support Assistant - server connection issue

I am trying to create a profile for my HP Support Assistant. My Internet connection is fine, however the page won't let me get past the details and password stage, saying "Server connection issue. Please try again."

Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

When was the last time it worked without these issues?
