HP Z3700 Mouse
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The OS detects the mouse and it works, i.e. pointer movement and clicks, but the mouse signal interfers with the laptops Wifi connectivity.  The failure is fairly immidiate (10 - 30 seconds).

I also tried the mouse on a Ubuntu 18 32bit laptop and had the exact same issue, the pointer movement and button clicks were responsive but the laptops wifi connection immdiately failed.

Both machines are patch to date.

Is the unit I brought faulty and replaceable?  I don't have the box but I have the recipt since I've only owned it a couple of days.

I see that your experiencing issue with HP z3700 wireless mouse,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • When was the last time it worked fine?
  • Move the mouse receiver to a different USB port?
  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update on the computer?
  • Have you tried using the mouse on another device/computer?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

  • When was the last time it worked fine?

The pointer movement and button presses have always worked fine.  The wireless interference has always been an issue.  I.e. I've had this problem since I brought the mouse.

  • Move the mouse receiver to a different USB port?

The laptop has 3 USB sockets, I've tried plugging the reciver into each of the 3 sockets in turn and the issue persists.

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update on the computer?

No, it's always been an issue.  I've also check for windows updates but there are none the laptop is up to date.  I've also tried removing and re-installing the latest wireless drivers for the network card, but this has not resolved the issue.

  • Have you tried using the mouse on another device/computer?

Yes, see my original post for details.
