Product: HP 14-dk1000 Laptop PC (8VZ00AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP laptop, Windows 10 pro, 64 bit. I keep getting a warning that my

license is going to expire soon.  I bought this a 1 and a half ago. Now I don't know what to do.

Yes, some 14-dk1xxx notebooks are sold with FreeDOS, but if you bought the notebook new from HP and it had Windows on it, then it should have a Windows product key encrypted in the BIOS.

 

Install the free Showkey Plus app from the Microsoft Store and it should show you the Windows OEM product key in the BIOS and the OEM version of Windows the key is good for (W10 Home or W10 Pro).

I don't know of any 14-dk1000 notebooks that came with W10 Pro but the report will let you know the version of W10 the product key in the BIOS is good for.

Don't  know if my case was different, but two technicians, MS, couldn't find if I had a license. So I bought Windows 11, that did not go smoothly either, but all is well. Thanks for the help.
