I have an HP 15 laptop and for as long as I remember it has had issues with wifi. The wifi works for a few seconds after booting, but the it just stops working and does not recognize any networks. I think it is a wifi card failure because this issue has persisted through Linux and windows. Any recommendations? Sadly the laptop has no Ethernet port.

Log into your modem/router and run the app (if any) that finds the least congested channels. .  This tutorial may be help.  Use a different name for the 2.4 and the 5ghz bands. To keep it simple, use the same password and use only numeric digits such as someone's phone number.

Please provide the Product ID or Model name for better assistance. Preferably the full product ID including the characters after the # symbol.  Possibly a better Wi-Fi card could be recommended.   One can always get a USB dongle, either Wi-Fi or hardwired ethernet.
