Hi @searay73,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To set up your HP 7900e printer, follow these steps to get started:
Step 1: Unbox and Prepare the Printer
- Carefully remove the printer from its packaging and remove all protective materials, including any tape or plastic covering the printer and its components.
- Open the printer's ink cartridge access door, install the ink cartridges provided, and ensure they click into place.
- Load plain white paper into the input tray and adjust the paper width guides as needed.
Plug in and Turn On the Printer:
- Connect the power cord to the printer and a power outlet. Press the power button to turn on the printer.
Step 2: Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi
On the Printer Control Panel:
- Use the printer's touchscreen or control panel to navigate to the Wi-Fi setup menu. This is typically found under "Setup," "Network," or "Wireless Settings."
Select Your Wi-Fi Network:
- Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter your Wi-Fi password. The printer will connect to your network.
Step 3: Install the Printer Software
Go to 123.hp.com:
- On your computer, open a web browser and visit 123.hp.com.
Download the Printer Software:
- Enter your printer model (HP 7900e) and follow the prompts to download and install the latest printer software and drivers.
Follow On-Screen Instructions:
- During the installation process, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup. The software will guide you through connecting the printer to your computer, either via Wi-Fi or USB, and setting up any additional features.
Register Your Printer:
- You may be prompted to register your printer during the setup process. This can provide you with access to additional support and warranty services.
Step 4: Print a Test Page
Once the setup is complete, print a test page to ensure everything is working correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
