15T-EG300

This Pavillion Laptop is almost two years old.  This past month the Wireless connection has been intermittently hanging the connection requiring going thru a troubleshooting scheme to get the connection back.  All other devices on same network having no problem with Wi-Fi or internet.  Have deleted device drivers for wireless card and restarted unit, ran malware and cleared all cache.  Nothing is working to fix this

Hi @MarMag, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

I understand how frustrating intermittent Wi-Fi issues can be, especially when other devices on the same network are working fine. Let's go through a few steps to help stabilize your wireless connection on the HP Pavilion 15T-EG3000.

Update Wireless Drivers

Even if you've reinstalled the drivers, it's important to ensure you're using the latest version directly from HP or Intel.

  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your product: HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg3000.
  • Download and install the latest Realtek or Intel Wireless LAN driver listed under "Driver-Network".

Alternatively, if your laptop uses an Intel Wi-Fi card, you can also check Intel’s Driver & Support Assistant for the latest updates. HP Support Assistant | HP® Support

Disable Power Saving for Wi-Fi Adapter

Windows may be turning off the adapter to save power.

  • Press Windows + X → Device Manager → Network Adapters → Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab.
  • Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Change Wi-Fi Adapter Settings

Adjusting roaming and bandwidth settings can help.

  • In Device Manager → Network Adapter → Properties → Advanced tab:
    • Set Roaming Aggressiveness to Medium-High.
    • Set Preferred Band to Auto or 5GHz only (if your router supports it).
    • Set Wireless Mode to match your router (e.g., 802.11ac).

Reset Network Stack

Run these commands in Command Prompt (Admin):

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig /flushdns

Restart your laptop after running these.

Check for Interference

If you're on a 2.4GHz band, try switching to 5GHz via your router settings. Nearby devices like microwaves or Bluetooth can cause interference.

BIOS Update

Sometimes, BIOS updates include fixes for hardware compatibility.

If the suggestions helped solve the problem, please let us know by clicking “Accepted Solution.” It really helps fellow users find quick answers.

A quick “Yes” also goes a long way in showing appreciation!

Take care and happy computing!
