That depends of what model WWAN card your notebook has.

 

It's ether this one...

 

This driver installer package contains the drivers for the Ericsson HP hs2320/hs2330/lc2000/lc2010/hs2340 Mobile Broadband modules.

or this one...

 

This package provides the drivers for the Sierra Wireless HP un2430 Mobile Broadband Module and is available on supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.

Hi:

 

Most HP business notebooks have sim card slots.

 

What most of them do not have is the required mobile broadband wireless network adapter that is needed to connect to a cellular network.

 

So, unless your notebook has the optional mobile broadband card, then putting a sim card in the slot will not do anything.
