Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP PretectSmart laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To connect your HP ProtectSmart laptop to a wireless display adapter, you should first ensure that both your laptop and the wireless display adapter are ready for the connection. Here are the general steps to follow:

  1. Ensure Compatibility: Make sure your wireless display adapter is compatible with your laptop. Both should support Miracast or similar wireless display technology.

  2. Power On Devices: Ensure that your wireless display adapter is powered on and connected to an HDMI input on your display device (such as a TV or monitor).

  3. Enable Wireless Display on Laptop: On your HP ProtectSmart laptop, open the settings to enable wireless display connectivity:

    • Press the Windows key + 'A' to open the Action Center.
    • Click on "Connect" to search for new devices.
  4. Select the Adapter: Look for your wireless display adapter in the list of available devices and select it.

  5. Follow On-Screen Instructions: Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the connection. You may need to enter a PIN displayed on the connected device, or confirm the connection if required.

  6. Troubleshooting: If the connection doesn't establish successfully, try updating your laptop's wireless network drivers or checking that both devices are on the same network.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
