HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer

Printer may have done an automatic update, not sure when the issue occured, but i went to put in my wifi password and noticed that the wifi symbol was not even on the display any more (dissappeared???)  and it shows ethernet symbol with an orange spot in the area.  I don't know how to return the printer to factory, Im baffled as to what happened.  HP is not talking about this issue as I see that 28 other people have the same problem.  Any issue I try to search regarding the wifi, is the basic how to put in your password etc.  This is not even an option.

Hi @XYZ623

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 printer has lost its Wi-Fi connectivity and is stuck in Ethernet mode. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully restore the Wi-Fi functionality:

1. Check Wireless Settings

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Network or Wireless settings.
  • Look for an option to Restore Wireless Settings. This will reset the wireless configuration.

2. Reset the Printer

You can perform a factory reset to restore the printer to its original settings:

  • From the printer's control panel, go to Settings (the gear icon).
  • Select Printer Maintenance or Tools.
  • Look for Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings. Confirm the reset.

3. Reconnect to Wi-Fi

After resetting:

  • Navigate to Network Setup or Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer’s control panel.
  • Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter your Wi-Fi password.

4. Update Firmware

If you regain Wi-Fi access:

  • It’s good practice to check for firmware updates.
  • You can do this via the printer’s control panel under Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Firmware.

5. Check Network Environment

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is functioning correctly. You may want to reboot your router.
  • Make sure the printer is within range of the Wi-Fi signal.

6. Use HP Smart App

If you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device, you can use it to help set up the printer:

  • Open the app and add your printer. It may guide you through reconnecting to Wi-Fi.

7. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
