Hello,

Looking to update my old laptop.

Did ram, going to download win10 soon.

Also want to update bios and change out the ralink 2g chip for a 5g dual band upgrade replacement. Currently has Ralink rt5390 802.11b/g/n wifi installed.

My laptop has AMD quad processor and has two antennas. Maybe an ac could easily work? Hopefully someone has made the switch. Help.

Help me please find a dual band ac wifi chip for my computer.

Thanks to all.

Your machine is too old, due to the whitelist, the chance to upgrade wifi adapter is very slim to none. Options: please use USB - AC wifi adapter such as

There are many arnoud and cheaper too.

Regards.

I thought the whitelist is gone now. Dont I just do a bios update?

Im sure there is a cross compatible chip that works with the motherboard by now, especially after a bios update, correct...

What about the broadcom or intel ac chips others have mentioned? My laptop has an AMD processor so I know that may affect things.

What about this chip?

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo    HP part #  724935-001?
