@TinuK, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your laptop's Wi-Fi is not detecting available networks even though the hotspot is working for other devices. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue:

Check Wi-Fi is Enabled

Wi-Fi Settings: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi and ensure that the toggle is turned on.

Restart the Laptop and Hotspot

Restart your laptop and ensure the hotspot is active. Sometimes a quick restart can resolve connection issues.

Check Device Manager for Wi-Fi Adapter Issues

Press Windows Key + X and select Device Manager.

Expand the Network Adapters section.

Look for your Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Intel, Realtek, etc.). If there is a yellow triangle or an error message next to it, it may indicate a driver or hardware issue.

Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and choose Update Driver to ensure it's using the latest driver.

Alternatively, Uninstall Device and then restart your laptop to let Windows automatically reinstall the correct drivers.

Reset Network Settings

Sometimes resetting network settings can help resolve connectivity issues.

Open Settings > Network & Internet > Status.

Scroll down and click Network reset. This will remove all network adapters and reinstall them.

After the reset, restart your computer and try connecting again.

Check the Wi-Fi Service

Press Windows Key + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.

Scroll down to WLAN AutoConfig.

Right-click it and ensure the service is Running and set to Automatic.

If it’s not running, start the service and see if the Wi-Fi network appears.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Go to the HP Support website and enter your laptop’s model number.

Check for any BIOS updates and network driver updates available.

Download and install the latest updates, especially the Wi-Fi driver.

Run Windows Troubleshooter

Right-click the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar and select Troubleshoot problems. This tool can help identify and fix issues with your Wi-Fi adapter.
