Hp laptop 15-di1001tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After changing my broadband connection, I had two options - 4g or 5g, so I selected 5g and then when I am clicking on the wifi icon it does not show my network connection. Please help me with this problem.

Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs for your notebook.

HP Laptop - 15-di1001tu Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

According to the specs, it comes with a Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter.

That model wifi adapter is a single band wifi adapter that only works on the 2.4 GHz wifi band.

That is why you don't see your 5.0 GHz wifi network.

Your only options to connect to the 5.0 GHz wifi band would be to:

Purchase a dual band USB wifi adapter

Replace/upgrade the internal Realtek 8723DE wifi adapter with this one...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express,

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15

The card will have the same 72 MBPS throughput as the RTL8723DE on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band, it will have a max throughput of 433 MBPS when you have an AC router with an excellent wifi signal strength.
