Hi @gigatron00
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check Wi-Fi Status:
- Ensure that Wi-Fi is turned on. You can check this in the settings or by using the keyboard shortcut (usually Ctrl + Shift + Wi-Fi key).
Restart Chromebook:
- Restart your Chromebook to refresh the connection.
Forget and Reconnect:
- Go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi.
- Click on your Wi-Fi network, select Forget, then reconnect by selecting it and entering the password.
Check Router:
- Restart your router. Unplug it for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Ensure that other devices can connect to the Wi-Fi to rule out issues with the network itself.
Update Chromebook:
- Make sure your Chromebook is up to date. Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates.
Network Settings Reset:
- In Settings, scroll down to Advanced > Reset settings and select Restore settings to their original defaults.
Check Airplane Mode:
- Ensure that Airplane mode is turned off in the quick settings menu.
DNS Settings:
- In Settings > Network > Wi-Fi, click on your network, go to Network settings, and try changing the DNS to a public DNS like Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
-Regards
