Microsoft Windows 11

I have tried connecting my laptop to wireless network, and each network connection it is telling me that it cannot connect to this network. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter, restart and update drivers and nothing works.

Hi @Gussie7

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the steps you’ve already taken—I truly understand how frustrating it is when your laptop refuses to connect to any wireless network, especially after trying all the right things.

Let’s work through a few more focused actions to help restore your connection.

Step-by-step actions to resolve wireless connection failure on Windows 11

Forget and reconnect to the network:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks.
  • Select each saved network and click Forget.
  • Reconnect manually by selecting the network and entering the password.

Check WLAN AutoConfig service:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll to WLAN AutoConfig, right-click it, and select Properties.
  • Set Startup type to Automatic, and click Start if the service is stopped.
  • Click Apply, then OK.

Run the Network Reset tool:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
  • Click Reset now. Your system will restart and reinstall all network adapters.

Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix tool:

Check for Windows updates:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all available updates.
  • Restart your system after updates are complete.

Test with a mobile hotspot:

  • If possible, enable a hotspot on your phone and try connecting to it.
  • This helps determine if the issue is with your laptop or your home network.

If the issue persists after these steps, let me know what you see under Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi—especially whether networks are visible but not connecting, or if no networks appear at all.

You’re doing the right thing by staying persistent, and I’ll guide you through the next steps based on what you find.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
