It is a brand new laptop! and once I started to download the applications I need I figured out that the internet speed is unbelievably slow :((  I tried to look for new updates for the drive and the BIOS but it didn't work

@AM986, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Have you checked the internet speed on any other device/computer connected to the same network?
  • This could be an issue with the Internet service/router.
  • Are you using an ethernet cable or wireless connection?

Restart the router and the PC and check again.

 

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant. 
  2. Check for updates. 
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.  

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

 

Also, check for pending windows update.
