Hi @LivanF,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your new HP Chromebook 14a-na0226nr isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi during setup. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart the Chromebook
• Hold the power button until it shuts down, then turn it back on.
• A fresh boot helps clear any setup-stage glitches.

Check if Wi-Fi is turned on
• At the bottom-right, open the quick settings menu.
• Make sure the Wi-Fi toggle is ON and airplane mode is OFF.

Move closer to the router
• Keep the Chromebook within 5–8 feet of the router during first-time setup.
• Weak signal during setup often prevents connecting.

Restart the router
• Power off the router for 15 seconds and turn it back on.
• This helps the Chromebook detect and handshake with the network properly.

Check if the network is hidden or using unsupported settings
• Chromebooks prefer WPA2 or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode.
• Networks using enterprise login, portals, or WPA3-only sometimes fail during initial setup.

Forget and reconnect to the network
• If you see the network listed, select it → Forget.
• Then reconnect and re-enter the password carefully.

Try connecting to a different network or mobile hotspot
• Turn on hotspot from a phone and see if the Chromebook connects.
• If it works, the issue is with the router settings rather than the Chromebook.

Hard refresh network settings (Chromebook hardware reset)
• Press and hold Refresh (⟳) + Power together.
• This resets Wi-Fi modules without erasing any data.

I hope this helps.
