@mac-from-broughWelcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Envy x360 laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To resolve the issue of connecting your HP Envy x360 laptop and ensuring visibility between devices on a wireless network, follow these steps:

1. Connect as a Registered User

To access your HP device from your Mac as a registered user, you need to ensure you have the correct credentials.

1. Check Credentials on HP: Ensure your HP Envy x360 has set up a network sharing password. This is usually found under network settings or sharing options within Windows 11. You may need to check the settings in Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings.

  2. Use Credentials on Mac: When prompted to connect as a registered user, utilize the credentials (username and password) that you use for the HP Envy's network user account.

2. Ensure Proper Network Settings

  1. File Sharing: On your HP Envy x360, ensure that file and printer sharing are enabled. Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings and make sure these options are turned on.

  2. Network Discovery: Ensure network discovery is enabled on your HP device. This setting allows your computer to see and be seen on the network.

  3. Firewall Settings: Check if the Windows Firewall is blocking file-sharing services or network discovery. You may need to adjust settings under Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall > Allow an app through Windows Firewall.

3. Accessibility from Mac

Ensure that your Mac’s settings allow it to be visible and accessible by the HP laptop:

  1. Sharing Preferences: On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Sharing and make sure that File Sharing is enabled.

  2. Check Network Visibility: Ensure that you are connected to the correct network and that your devices are on the same subnet. Both should be able to see each other if they are correctly configured.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
