Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have read the documentation on the wifi cards that I can put in my laptop but I would like to know if there are others that are not listed that I can purchase to upgrade that support AC wifi speeds (5ghz spectrum). I could buy a wifi dongle for my laptop, but I would prefer to have the internal module if possible.

My current system is: HP Envy dv6z-7200

Thank You

Hi:

You should be able to install this model AC wifi adapter in your model, but the bluetooth may not work--something about the bluetooth not being compable with W10 and having to mask a couple of the wifi card contacts to make it work.

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo

HP Part # 724935-001

The card should be readily available on Amazon or eBay.

Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Hi Paul,

Thank You! I will look into it. My current wifi card has two pin/wires on it (see pic below). Does this mean that it has two antennas on it and should be an easy swap with the card you posted?

Also, what did you mean by this:

You're very welcome.

Yes, the card would be a direct swap, but as I wrote earlier, the BT will probably not work in W10.

The pins (contacts) I am referring to are located on the bottom of the card where it plugs in to the socket.

There is some information out there in cyberspace where users have commented that if you mask a couple of those pins, the bluetooth will work.  I don't know which ones you need to prevent from making contact with the socket.

But your notebook does need to have two antennas connected to the card for best wifi performance, which it does.

Before installing the Broadcom card, uninstall the Realtek wifi and bluetooth drivers in the device manager and if there is any Ralink bluetooth software in the Programs section of the Windows control panel, uninstall that too.
