Solved!

Intel ac 7265 wireless adapter

HP Recommended
Pavilion x360 13-u163 convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two related issues.  1) Connectivity on my HPx360 convertible has been poor lately.  Very erratic.  No other computer in house nor any other wireless device has problem.  2) I let the HP support website identify my model for updated drivers.  Interestingly, it found my computer and listed all the drivers but it lists a Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Drivers update but the driver on the computer according to everything including going into device manager shows it's an Intel AC7265.  Is the software on the HP site incorrect?  I don't think so. The intel update manager says driver is up to date but I'd like to try and install a different driver either HP specific if there is one or the previous driver which I had no problems with.  Device mgr won't let me roll back to previous for some reason.

@dk02655 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with wifi.

Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here
I have a few steps to resolve the issue:

  • Since you've already reinstalled drivers, I would recommend using an Ethernet cable (Wired) and update your Wi-Fi drivers using this link

  • Update the bios by visiting this link or through support assistant using an Ethernet cable.

  • Now try to connect to the internet wireless.

The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.
