Yes. Since Windows 8 HP changed the Wireless button from the wireless icon to the airplane icon because since Windows 8 Airplane mode is now used to disable Bluetooth (If your computer has that) and Wi-Fi. This is completely normal.

Oh okay. That makes me understand the first problem, the second problem is that there is no Wi-Fi setting on the laptop, all I have seen is Ethernet and Bluetooth in network.

Are you sure its not Windows 8.1?  Windows 8 is out dated and not supported. Windows 8.1 was a free upgrade for Windows 8 users and can be obtained by the store app or by using an ISO you can download from microsoft.
