I want to upgrade the wifi on my Envy 13 ad0xx. Is the AX200NGW wifi card compatible with this laptop?

You're very welcome.

I think your notebook has a good chance of having the AX200 work.

The reason I wanted to know what model wifi adapter your notebook has is because many notebooks only have one antenna cable connected to some wifi cards, but since yours has the Intel 7265 AC, it needs two antenna cables to work properly as does the AX200.

The parts list confirms that the Speccy report is correct.

I cannot guarantee that the AX200 will work but I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't unless your notebook is one of the very few made during  or after 2014 that has a BIOS whitelist, which prevents the installation of any other wifi adapter other than the ones listed in the service manual.

HP does not release any of that kind of information.

There is one thing that you need to make sure of when you buy a different Intel card.

It must be the non-vPro edition of the card.

This is the part number and description I recommend you buy.

I believe you can find them on eBay by searching by the HP part number...

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part number L35282-005

You can also get it from the HP parts store...24.13 pounds.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

The wifi antenna cables are very thin and delicate so use extreme caution when removing and reattaching them.

Hi:

What is the product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

What model wifi adapter does it have now?

Hi,

Thanks for responding. The product number as reported by the HP Support Assistant is 2FQ87EA#ABU. I need to open the laptop up to be precise about the wifi adapter currently fitted, but I think it will be an Intel 7260 type.

HP Recommended

The adapter currently fitted, as reported by Speccy, is the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Looking forward to learning the results of your wifi card upgrade project.

Received the replacement wifi 6 card and fitted it, This was quite easy, but you need to know where the hidden screws are before the back can be removed. Once installed it worked immediately, no new drivers needed. So I can confirm compatibility. Thanks for the help.

You're very welcome, and thank you for letting us know that the AX200 works in the 13-ad0xx notebook model series.
