Pavilion TS 14 notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have Pavilion TS14 notbook with product number F2D15PA. I had wifi connectivity issue with original wifi card, I think ralink if remember correctly. I upgraded the original wifi card to Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260HMW Mini PCI-E BT4.0 Card Intel For HP SPS 710661-001. Its working fine.

I have wifi6 router. To improve wifi speed, would like to check if I can upgrade my HP laptop to latest Wifi6 card like IntelAx200 or any other compatible mode. Advice would be much appreciated.

Hi:

You would have to see if they make a HMC form factor of an AX200 wifi card.

They used to sell one, but it is out of stock for a long time now.

Intel only makes this card in the M.2 form factor, which would not work in your notebook.

Appreciate your advice. So no point buying Intel AX200 as it uses M.2 NGW which won't work on HMC slot used by my laptop.

Say I am able to find an AX200 wifi card with HMC form factor or the item, for which you have shared Amazon link, gets re-stocked. Would it work on my HP laptop model F2D15PA? Pls advice as I heard HP uses some BIOS whitelist.

You're very welcome.

If you installed an Intel 7260 AC and it worked, then any HMC form factor card should also work.

Your notebook's service manual only listed the 7260 dual band N version of the card as supported.

I assume that HMC variant of the card was made by a vendor other than Intel, who somehow put the modern wifi and bluetooth chips on that older type circuit board.

As you can see from the Intel specs on the card they don't officially make it in the HMC form factor.
