Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought a new laptop from Amazon.  new not refurbished and yet the battery is completely dead and won't charge.  when I looked up the warranty it says my warranty expired in 2017!  I need a battery? What do I do?

It is perhaps a three to four year old model that was never sold and sat on a shelf until the battery died.

 

HP might have added the presumed warranty based on when that unit was first sold by HP to the retailer.

 

Could be a brand new computer and the warranty data is "just wrong" (the dead battery is a bit suspicious, though).

 

Assuming you want to keep the unit as opposed to returning it to Amazon, "something" can be done.

 

Regardless,

 

  • I have submitted a request that someone take a look.
  • Please know that because our Community is not HP Technical Support, we are not a direct conduit to HP.
