HP Pavilion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

My HP computer is around 4 years old and I just recently got a new modem and my computer won’t pick up or find my WiFi or even show it as a possible network. I think it might be a software issue but I’m not 100% sure and need help figuring out how to get my WiFi to show up.

Hi:

Make sure your modem is set to broadcast on both the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz WIFI bands.

Your notebook probably  has a single band wifi adapter that only works on the 2.4 GHz WIFI band.
