HP Pavilion - 15-cs0056ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear All, I have bought recently HP Pavilion - 15-cs0056ur. My problem is that laptop cannot find 5GHz wifi network. I tried to find solution but nothing helped. I have everything enabled in Device Manager, wifi is 802.11ac and also My router is Netgear AC1750.  So both of them are compatible with 5GHz. I don't know What to do.

A couple of ideas / places to look...

Check the driver for update for your Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11b/g/n/ac (1x1) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 Combo

For example:

Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver (Windows 10 v1803/v1809)

At this writing, the download:

sp91649.exe

Information document, including the supported Devices list:

sp91649.cva

and / or

sp91649.html

NOTES:

  1. Find your exact Device in the Device Manager.
  2. NOT your OS / version?  Check the Software and Driver page for a different driver.

And...

Make sure your router is broadcasting at both 2.4GHz and 5GHz (assuming it supports both bandwidths).

Assign different names to each SSID

For example,

Name the SSID "MyFancy24Network" for the 2.4GHz

Name the SSID "MyFancy5Network" for the 5GHz.

If necessary, connect using a Manual connection setup.

"it"?

Check to make sure your 5GHz is enabled in the Device Manager.

OK, thanks.

Might best go back to the router and perhaps restart it.

Recheck the SSID names for the different broadcasts - if you have not done so, give each band its own name to easily separate the two.

If I have any ideas other than the obvious, I will post back.
