HP Laptop 15s-eq0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I try to connect my laptop to my Samsung smart TV via Miracast it usually takes a few tries to get it to work.

When it finally does work the TV screen freezes after a while and also Windows so i cannot click anything or even open the "start menu". Task manager does not help either, I end up having to log out of my account to unfreeze it.

I have checked the Miracast driver and its up to date.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you for trying to help me! I downloaded the support assistant. I updated all drivers and also the windows updates.

Unfortunately it didn't fix the problem. it connects on the first try but it still freezes after a while.

Its strange because I never had these problems with my old laptop which was also HP but around 5-7 years old.

Please perform a Reset and then run all the updates once again

Are you kidding me? I just bought this laptop brand new a few weeks ago.

I guess Im wrong for expecting it to work better than my 7 year old laptop.

Have you tried the updates already?

I have done all the updates for drivers and from windows update and honestly it works even worse now.

What I meant is I cannot believe I have to "reinstall" windows a few weeks after buying a completely new laptop.

A bad update might have caused this issue. Since it's a new Notebook there will be lots of updates happening

i have done ALL the updates. I had the problem before the updates and i still have the problem after all the updates.

Im sick of it, Probably gonna return the laptop. this is ridiculous. I know its no the most expensive laptop in the world but for 700$ I thought I would get a working laptop.

Also the fan is extremly loud and runs basically ALL the time even if I just have ONE page open in google chrome.

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you conatct our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
