HP - Pavilion 14-ce0501sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP pavillion. When I connect to the internet with wi-fi it works but then it keeps disconnecting. It tells me 'cannot find site' but if I say try again it works.

I recently had the laptop back with HP (a fan problem) and they updated the BIOS and also changed some of the sleep settings but the problem persists.

Thanks

James

Hi, James:

See if installing this updated Realtek 8821CE wifi driver that I zipped up and attached below, resolves the problem.

05/02/2019,    2024.0.9.102

This driver came from the Microsoft Update catalog.

You will have to manually install the driver, as there is no exe (auto install) file

Download and unzip the attached driver to its folder.

Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager.  Click on the RTL8821CE 802.11ac wifi adapter.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC, and hopefully the problem will be resolved.

Hi, James:

What model wifi adapter does your notebook have?

If you don't know, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.
