TouchSmart 15 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

New house, changed Spectrum to ATT Fiber 100. Laptop loses Wifi connection often. Up43 /Down59 speeds slower than other PCs/pnones (117/120). NIC  gone bad or weak?  "Can't reach page/ Fix connection Problems" or "You,re not connected to a network". Fixes work for a while. Performed all Windows and HP updates/Diagnostics. Any browser. Suggestions appreciated.

I have a few questions.

1). How is the signal strength on your other devices such as a phone or tablet when in the same area?

2). How many devices are being connected over wifi during these times?

3)Have you recently moved the computer?

4)Have you tried updating the driver?

Thank you, Albuebob.

1. Signal strength on other devices in vicinity is better than on the laptop

2. Typically about 15 are connected.

3. We moved across town 3 months ago. Issue started two weeks ago. Has not moved within new location. I have added a couple Leviton Decora Smart Switches about three weeks ago,

4. I do regular HP updates (most automatically). Wouldn't a new driver be included? If not, where can I find it?

I had a lot of WiFi issues with my laptop as well. Most of my problems revolved around Windows installing WiFi drivers automatically that did not function well. I would recommend that you make sure you have the drivers that were originally installed or updated by HP and not Intel. My laptop is working great now with the drivers listed on the HP Support Assistant site under software, drivers, firmware.  It seemed that during windows updates I would also get an Intel driver update as well. I finally turned off to not give me other Microsoft products when I updated windows, and so far I have not had the generic Intel Wifi drivers reinstalled again. This is what is working for me at this time.
