I have BT Superfast Fibre 1 with a max., speed of about 50 / 60 Mbps which I get when connecting my laptop to the BT Hub 5 router with a cable. If I remove the cable the speed drops to as low as 10Mbps. The laptop is about 7.5m away from the router on practically line of sight. Is this a fault of the router or my laptop? Any suggestions to remedy this will be welcome.

@beechguide,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Let's start off by updating the Bios, Chipset and Wireless card drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Once done, restart the computer.

Alternatively, you can go through the support document - HP PCs - Slow Internet Troubleshooting (Windows 10, 😎

Let me know how it goes for further assistance!
