My Spectre X2 Detachable PC keeps saying NO SERVICE on Cellular

Spectre x2 Detachable PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I inserted SIM into my spectre x2 detachable pc with windows 10, it keeps displaying NO SERVICE, even there is service on same network and other devices,

Is there a driver or bundle to resolve this No Service on Cellular? Kindly guide.

My Spectre X2 Detachable PC keeps saying NO SERVICE on Cellular

@symony360

Welcome to HP Forums,

Let's get straight to it!

If you've inserted the Sim card according to the user guide: Click here to verify - Page.13 (Installing a micro SIM card (select products only)

here's what you need to do: To set your mobile network, refer to the documentation from your mobile provider.

Also, to answer your query you may download and install the latest driver for the sim service: Click here to download (Source)

Keep me posted, as I (Or a trusted colleague) shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,

And your device is up and running again, only in case you don't get back to us, first!

that said, If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

My Spectre X2 Detachable PC keeps saying NO SERVICE on Cellular

I installed the latest driver as recommended, I still get the NO SERVICE.

The SIM card is properly inserted, as the system tells me the name of the GSM company e.g. GLO NG, but beneath it, is written NO SERVICE.

What else can I do to resolve this?

There are a few more updates that could help us get that to work,

I suggest downloading and installing the below software to activate the Sim:

@symony360

Thank you for replying

I'm glad you don't want to give up, that's perfect for such scenarios as it requires multiple steps and I simply don't like to give up either:

That said, here's what else you can do:

(let me know if the cellular device isn't showing up, in your device)

To install the SIM card:

  1. Turn your computer over.

    NOTE: The SIM card slot location varies by computer model. See your computer’s documentation for location and access instructions.

  2. Remove the battery.
  3. Insert the SIM card into the slot available in the battery bay. (see note above that you ensure exactly where your SIM card slot is located. While MOST are in the battery bay, yours may be located in a different place on your system.)
  4. Replace the battery.
  • Select the Network icon from the taskbar and then select Cellular. The Cellular page displays. (See figure 1.)

    Figure 1.
  • Select your Mobile Broadband Carrier to expand the options.(See figure 2.)

    Figure 2.
  • Select Advanced Options. The options are displayed.(See figure 3.)

    Figure 3.
  • Make a note of the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) and the Integrated Circuit Card Identifier (ICCID)

I hope that answers your query,

The Cellular device does show up, it even displays the name of the SIM provider.

BUT it says NO SERVICE, even though their is 100% network coverage in my location. I keep telling me NO SERVICE

@symony360

Thank you for responding,

For my next step, I need the exact model name of your device as I've tried helping you with generic drivers that resolve such issue in most cases but your concern doesn't seem to be "most cases" and it looks like it requires more research.

While you respond to that, this my last shot for generic steps: Click here for details.

Let me know how that goes,

Keep me posted.

Obviously the issue is not generic. See details of my PC below:

Product name: Hp Spectre x@ Detachable
Serial number: [edit]
Product number: N5522UAR#ABA

Thanks for your support.

I have found the product specifications of your device: HP Spectre x2 - 12-a009nr and the suggested steps should have worked either way,

That said, I recommend you download this driver for your specific model: Click here

Once the above is installed, download this package as it contains the device drivers for the HP lt4110/lt4114 4G LTE Mobile Broadband modules:

Click here to download and install it

Click here for the source.
