The problem is that the HP DV6 laptop came with Win7 preinstalled, not Win10, and HP does not provide any Win10 drivers for it.
You need to check Device Manager to see if any of the devices are being shown as having driver problems.
If they are, then remove those drivers, reboot the PC, and connect it through an Ethernet cable to your Router.
Once you do this, you should then run Windows Update and see if it finds and downloads and drivers for your WiFi.
