After installing Windows 10, I am having internet issues. My laptop is unable to detect my wifi however , my laptop is showing my beighbours’ wifi (2 to 4 wifi names).

my own wifi is connected with my other gadgets and there wifi is working fine.

I took it to repairer, he tried everything that he could try but problem could not get fixed. I tried to follow as many tutorials and google tips as many as I found in order to fix this issue but all in vein. Please help me fix this issue as soon as possible On urgent basis.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

I see that you're experiencing connectivity issue after installing windows update, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

As your computer able to see other networks apart from form your home network, this sounds like software related issue,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
  • Have you tried with a wired internet connection?
  • Have you tried the factory system reset?

While you respond to that, I recommend the below steps:

Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties  > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck  "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

If the issue persists, continue with the below steps:

  • If your computer has a wireless key or button on or near the keyboard and the wireless activity light is off or amber in color, then press the key or button to enable your wireless adapter. This key might be the F10 key, F12 key or labeled with a symbol of an airplane

  • If wireless activity comes on or the activity light turns blue, you have enabled wireless on your system. Try connecting to the Internet again. If problems persist, continue using these steps.

  • If your computer does not have a wireless key or the wireless activity lights remains off or orange then continues using these steps.

  • Click Start, type troubleshooting into the Search field.

  • Select troubleshooting from the search results.

  • Click Network and Internet.

  • Click Internet Connections

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Thank you for the support, I somehow already managed to solve my problem earlier, before getting any response here. However I have another issue (because of windows 10) I am making another thread for that.
