Hi, wondering if anyone could help me? I have a home wifi that has 350mbps speed all my devices, such as my mobile phone and iPad able to connect to its 5Ghz as my router is a dual-band. I can get a speed result of 300-350 Mbps download and 300-320 Mbps upload speed on both mobile phone and iPad. However, on my HP Laptop 15s-eq3xxx, I am only getting 2.4ghz connection, and 100 times I have tried speedtest and I am only getting not more than 100 Mbps, even if I am close to my router. When I check on the settings I have the latest driver update

The only suggestion I can offer would be to install the latest version of the Wi-Fi driver which your notebook probably does not have installed:

Realtek RTL8xxx Wireless LAN Drivers

Version 2024.10.230.600     June/11/2025

sp162860.exe

Thank you. Upon checking the update driver, it has only the 2024.10.228 and now it is updated to 2024.10.230.300 using the driver you attached. Restarted my laptop, but still not getting the 5G.And when I look at the Wi-Fi information, it still gets this information. I have 300mbps Wi-Fi, but the speed test is still between 90-100mbps upload and download, even when closer to the router. My other devices are able to get 300-350mbps

Description: Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter

Driver version: 2024.10.230.600

Network band (channel): 2.4 GHz (1)

Aggregated link speed (Receive/Transmit): 144/144 (Mbps)

Here are the settings

802.11n channel width for 5.2GHz set to auto
Preferred band 3. 5G first
Wireless mode 6. 802.11a/b/g

You're very welcome.

Since updating the driver didn't work, unfortunately I don't know what else it could be other than a defective Wi-Fi card where the 5.0 GHz radio is not working anymore.

Probably. Anyway, thank you

Sorry it wasn't an easy fix.

If you let me know the full model number or product number of your notebook, I can check to see what your options would be to install a better Wi-Fi card.

Appreciate your assistance. Here's my Laptop model number: HP Laptop 15s-eq3067AU

You're very welcome.

I'm looking at the parts lists for several different model 15s-eq30xxx models at the link below:

HP PartSurfer

Many of them come with the same Wi-Fi card as yours, but I did find this model which has a Wi-Fi 6 card that should work.

HP PartSurfer

M91238-005
SKO-WLAN Realtek CAVA2 ax 2x2

That would have probably been the best card HP offered in the model series.

See if you can order one of those cards if you want to try and resolve the problem.

Your other option would be to use a dual band USB Wi-Fi adapter.

They make USB Wi-Fi 6 adapters nowadays.

I can only find this service teardown video for your notebook:

And actually, I bought this 2 years ago just for work no other applications were installed no modifications as well

Yes, and that Wi-Fi card model I posted from the other notebook should also work in yours since they are in the same 15s-eq3000 model series.
