HP Laptop 14-cf0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This problem started a week ago. My laptop disconnects from the home WiFi (which it's been successfully connected to for the past 2 years) at random. It'll work perfectly fine one minute, and then disconnect the next. When I click on the WiFi symbol on the task bar, it won't display any networks to connect to, and it'll only connect to an Ethernet, which defeats the purpose of a laptop. I've rebooted my computer, chosen a reset date (several times), followed the Command Prompt instructions given by the HP Virtual Assistant, run security checks, performed updates, everything, and the problem persists. I've NEVER had an issue with this laptop before and now this is happening multiple times a day. It's extremely frustrating, and it's more frustrating that there isn't a help line or someone I can call, since the Virtual Assistant fixes are super temporary.

Again, I've followed the Virtual Assistant prompts SEVERAL times on several different days for the past week or so. I'm exhausted with temporary fixes. I need a permanent solution. I've never gotten liquid on my laptop, I've never dropped it, no other devices in my home are having this problem. I need help.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Do you have other devices that are working fine with the same Network?

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

If the issue persists please perform a Reset and let me know how it goes

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊
