Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have a HP 15 Notebook pc. Product ID is 00258-61940-15581-AAOEM and it will not connect to the WiFi. I put in the password for my home WiFi and it loads but then says “ Can’t connect to this network” I’m using the same WiFi for my iPhone and it’s working just fine. Same password and everything. So why won’t my laptop connect?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Did you make any changes on the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

  1. Click the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, and type Device Manager into the Search bar.
  2. The Device Manager should appear. ...
  3. Right-click the network adapter, and click Uninstall.
  4. The program will confirm the uninstall.
  5. Click the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, and type Device Manager into the Search bar.
  6. The Device Manager should appear. ...
  7. Right-click the network adapter, and click Uninstall.
  8. The program will confirm the uninstall.
  9. Follow the prompts to restart your computer and then try to connect to your home network.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
