My wifi on my HP Pavilion x360 is too weak to handle a Zoom meeting.

The video and audio are choppy and thus incomprehensible during a Zoom meeting.  But my iPad handles it well at the same location  -- my desk.  Do I need a dongle, or is this a defect in this machine?
