HP Stream - 11-ah012dx Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The Stream constantly loses track of its network driver. Device Manager says the driver is there and operating correctly but the system has no connectivity and indicates so in the Task Tray. The normal remedies of Windows Trouble Shooter, Disabling and then Enabling the Driver, Deleting the Driver and Replacing it in case it is corrupted have been tried. The only thing that gets me back online is a complete shut down then start back up. That isn't a guarantee and more than two or three tries is not uncommon. It makes no sense. It often is seemingly the last thing to load at startup as well.

Hi:

I only see Intel wifi drivers on your notebook's support page, but the parts list indicates that your model has a Realtek 8822 wifi adapter.

If your model has the RTL8822 wifi adapter, see if installing this driver resolves the problem...

I tried the file and the install fails progressively as reported in the command line. It is not recognized as the correct driver for my model Stream. Thank you for trying.

You're very welcome.

Is that the model wifi adapter your Stream has?

If not, what model wifi adapter does it have?

The system repeatedly loses connectivity and reports it no longer has an installed network driver. In Device Manager, the network driver is displayed as installed with the yellow indicator for an error. To restore temporary network functionality I have to Disable then Enable after which running Trouble Shooter will sometimes fix the problem.

More often than not the system requires a Shut Down after which it behaves normally for a short period and when that isn’t enough and I have to use the Reset network driver function from within Windows Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network Reset

That unfortunately also results in having to input any remembered network passwords.

The problem has increased in frequency after the last Windows Update a week ago with repeated BSOD indicating page errors and identifying rtwlane.sys as the culprit.

These BSOD may happen once with functionality immediately restored but with increasing frequency several BSOD will happen at once, fail to repair, resulting in the more extended Windows Automatic Repair that so far works by restoring my system to a previous version state, though requiring some apps need to be reinstalled.

I am looking for a hopefully more recent Realtek driver update that fixes this problem.
